Tim was born in Chicago, but grew up in the Congo as the son of American Baptist missionaries, and he and his wife Susan served with Africa Inland Mission in northeastern Congo from 1982 to 1996. Their four children were all born during those years.
With the outbreak of war in Congo in 1996, they returned to Edmonton, and Tim began a PhD program at Trinity International University in Chicago. Then from 2005 to 2015, he taught in a missions program at Briercrest College
Since July 2015 he has been enjoying a new phase of ministry, serving as pastor of Prairie Winds Church.
Both during his years at Briercrest, and now as PWC pastor, he continues to serve part-time with Africa Inland Mission, teaching for one month of the year at Shalom University in northeastern Congo.
Their four children are all married, and they now have five grandchildren scattered across western Canada and eastern US.
